The class begins with a fun warm-up exercise where they have to identify the opposite meaning of words, which they have to use in context. Next, they are introduced to new words related to the topic, which they are then challenged to use in the next exercise.
There is an awesome video-based activity which enables students to practise their comprehension skills through true or false, sentence completion and discussion exercises.
Afterwards, there is an excellent reading which challenges students to learn more about St. Patrick’s Day, The lesson finishes with a fun speaking game which are designed to help student progression while ensuring they are fully engaged and loving learning,
As with all adult lesson plans on ESL Pals, there is an excellent homework task to supplement this awesome ESL lesson on St. Patrick’s Day. Students are challenged to complete a series of past tense exercises which follows on from the lesson.
